Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

Overview: Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program

Conceptualized and brought into action in 2017, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) caters to the employers from the participating provinces of Atlantic Canada to hire foreign nationals who wish to establish stronger roots in the economic development of the maple leaf country. The recruited overseas workers must however convince the AIPP that he/she strongly desires to live and work in one of the Atlantic provinces of Canada for the long term. International students who have completed their graduation in Atlantic Canada may wish to extend their stay through this program.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program consists of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Together these provinces form the Atlantic jurisdiction of Canada.

Just like the Canada PNP pathway, the AIPP program too emphasizes filling the skills gap in the labor market with the talented overseas workforce that isn’t easy to find locally. Based on the requirement for hiring individuals for Canada PR visa, the program is further classified into three categories:

1. Atlantic High Skilled Program

2. Atlantic Intermediate Skilled Program

3. Atlantic International Graduate Program

Adding to the success of Canada immigration pathways such as the express entry system, Canada PNP, and now AIPP, the Canadian government has decided to make this immigration pathway permanent for anyone who wishes to migrate to Canada for an indefinite time. By complementing the participating province’s provincial nominee programs, the AIPP will continue as a flagship regional economic immigration program of Canada.

Benefits of Migrating to Canada through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program
